Viet Nam is undergoing a significant transformation in its rice sector, aiming to become a global leader in sustainable, high-quality, low-emissions rice production. A key step in this journey is the implementation of the 1 Million Hectares High-Quality Low-Carbon Rice Project, launched by the Prime Minister in December.
Last week, a workshop organized by the International Rice Research Institute in Ho Chi Minh City gathered key stakeholders to discuss the project’s progress. The event highlighted the importance of public-private partnerships in driving the transformation of Viet Nam's food systems. These collaborations are crucial in achieving sustainability goals and promoting innovation in rice production.
Grow Asia is supporting the Vietnamese government’s efforts through initiatives like the Food Innovation Hub-Vietnam. Launched in partnership with the World Economic Forum and Viet Nam's Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Hub is the first of its kind in Southeast Asia and is playing a vital role in advancing sustainable agriculture in the region.
